Fujian Jasmine Pearl from Adagio Tea

I bought a sample of Fujian Jasmine Pearl tea from Adagio Tea.  It comes from their Masters Collection.

The tea was pretty in it's little tin.  The rest of the samples I bought came in zip lock bags, but the pearls came in a tiny tin, so it was proof it was the more expensive of the samples.  It was cute and tempted me to immediately smell it.  My fiance, Jeff, and I both agreed that it smelled glorious.  It was very floral in smell.  It was almost too pretty to steep.

When I finally tried it, I used 1 tsp. for 2 minutes in 8 oz. of water.  The pearls were really pretty to watch unfurl in the basket of my cup.  It was neat.  I had never tried any of the pearl teas before.  The expense always scared me off.  The tea is highly floral.  It has strong notes of jasmine.  If you enjoy floral teas, I cannot recommend it more.

I will admit that it put me off at first as the smell of the tea is overly earthy for me.  I usually drink chai blends or chocolate blends, but I find myself pleasantly surprised after drinking some.  I think I actually enjoy the floral notes compared to what I thought I would.

I think I have decided to enjoy the rest of the sample I bought and perhaps I will try some other pearl teas sometime.
